BACKGROUND
Sony invented pre/ongoing/post call features using RCS technology that is available for users in the UK, German and Spanish markets.
Enriched calling project is required to meet GSMA technical specifications.
Sony removed all none essential patches in the phone and phone-book app due to development costs. Further development of RCS in telephony was not considered essential.
The RCS features where assailable for users in Telephony app, Phone-book app, Messaging app and the RCS app.
Identifying issues.
I organized user-workshops and user-surveys to gather real user comments and to identify problem areas. Operators (Vodafone, Orange and Duche telecom) performed surveys and made the material available to me to study.

Team work
Further major issues found involved multiple teams on different continents, also these teams had different goals and their own issues to handle.
This gave me initial very little room to improve the RCS interaction behavior with in Telephony and Phone-book, but I saw an opportunity to make some major upgrades when Phone-book adopted Google Phone-book for Nougat.
The best use of resources was for the Phone-book team to allocate an “area” in the phone-book code for the RCS team to “inject” the RCS code. Based on my discussions and negotiations with Tokyo this process was adopted. Result was more efficient work for the Phone-book team with little maintenance. Also the RCS team had freedom to optimize RCS interaction within the Phone-book App.
I then designed RCS interaction blueprints. These were examined by UX/UI experts and the Tokyo and Lund development teams.
Alterations to the blueprints were done by me based on comments from these various groups.
